Decoding and Decrypting PHP Encoded Files

Every now and then you may need to make changes to PHP files that you paid for only to realize that the files are encrypted and the person or business whom you bought the files from cannot be found anywhere. It is at this time that you will definitely need a company can readily decode and decrypt your encoded files for you.

In the world of programming, there are many languages that are used. Some that we are used to include C, C++, C#, Perl, PHP, HTML, and ASP, all of which are used to write programs for use on the internet and otherwise. With the advent of more programming languages and more sensitive information being transmitted online, the need for encryption has become more and more essential. In an attempt to meet this growing demand, encryption methods have been formulated to protect sensitive data from being stolen or used improperly. Some forms of encryption used online for PHP files, for instance, include Zend Encoding, ByteRun Encoding, IonCube Encoding, Base64, and lots more. For those companies and individuals who encrypt their PHP files using any of these forms of encryption, it provides some level of security.

But as I read some forum posts and blog posts, I see where there is a growing number of persons who are hired to create websites and programs for individuals. That is not a problem. The problem, as has been highlighted by many on these forums, is that the programmers tend to encode/encrypt the files after they finish the job so that the person who paid them to do the work cannot alter them. Such individuals are often very frustrated, and even after contacting the programmers about sending the unencrypted files to them they reach nowhere. They then have to begin searching for persons who can decode PHP encryption, like KGB Decoders, Inc. There are individuals, freelancers, to be exact, who offer decryption services. If you have a problem getting your PHP files decoded, then you can visit job sites and boards to search for such persons. Doing a search on any search engine will help you to locate them even quicker.

In addition, there are certain forms of decryption that you can do online without having to pay for the service. For example, if you want to decode Base64 encoded files, doing a search for “Base64 decode” on the search engines will yield you a litany of websites that offer that service. More complicated forms of encryption like Zend and IonCube are not as readily available for free. In the majority of such cases, you can find websites that offer decoding services. The main drawback is that it can be quite costly, so check a number of them before deciding to use their service. One thing to remember is that no type of encryption is fool-proof. At some point in time they can decoded. Humans made them, so humans can break them!

Just one more point. How do you know which encryption type is which? That’s a good question and one I know many people have been asking. After all, when you look at encrypted files all you see is lots of nonsensical gibberish. Well, here is an easy way to identify them: in most cases, the encryption type is stated in the file. To see what type your file is encrypted with, simply use an HTML or PHP editor to open your PHP file and look at the top of the file, somewhere between the first and fifth lines, and you should see the type of encryption stated there. You won’t see something like “Encrypted using…” or “Encoded by…” or anything like that. Just look in the code for a word that lets you know the type of encryption used. IonCube and Zend encoded files, for example, have their names in the code in just about that region. After identifying the encryption type, you can go seek out someone who can decode it for you. KGB Decoders, Inc. can do the job for you.
